We have our health and some how we do okay financially...gotta love this age...thought I'd hate the 40's...you know the weight gain, gravity, the aches and pains, the loss of control in some areas, the loss of eye sight and hearing...well we still have selective hearing...but wow...you know, it just feels like for me anyway, I have finally given myself the right to live in my skin, as it is today. Our kids are all fine...Trey is all grown up and doing well in DC (see Mom, I didn't screw him up too bad)...Danielle and Austin, they are gonna be fine (I'm letting Kemper do all that, don't wanna push my luck). So anyway we're thankful...thankful for all of it...This year we've taken several side trips not motorcycle related, I've been urged to write about them a little...so here it is in a nut shell...In June we went to Atlanta for a week for a Bug Convention, we met Kemper's parents in Augusta (like stepping back in time), in July our Wild Hog adventure to Jefferson on the bike, in October we went to Calgary, Canada for 6 days and in November we went to the Lone Star Rally for 4 days and to Walt Disney World for 5 days for Thanksgiving with Kemper's Sister Terri and brother-in-law Garlan. In December we went with my mom and brother Kevin to visit my Grandmother and Todd...now Kemper has met my whole family...and he didn't run away yet. Woohoo!
I've quit everything...my second job, singing with Houston Horizon Chorus...dieting (obviously) Looking on to 2008 we are very excited...my job is offering great things... Kemper's stuff is really taking off, two more patents in 2007, now just waiting for shelf space...woohoo...we plan to start running...my goal is to run in the Susan Komen Race this October...probably not much to most, but baby steps ya know? Kemper got a new horn and more glow lights for the bike for Christmas...now he wants to have the tins painted and be all custom...we'll see...but for sure we plan to take some road trips...I've freed my schedule to run and play with him, when we can. Not many side trips planned maybe a visit or two to see Trey but mostly we are planning a trip to Australia in the fall. For now Happy New Year...we wish you all everything that makes you happy...for us...OMG! there are no limits...ride it like you stole it! WOOHOO!!!!!
Life is a Ride
Starting through life
Like a six week old pup
Where are we going?
Where will we end up?
This ride seems awesome
Just starting out
Not too far ahead
Some bad bumps, no doubt
Bad booze and women
Can be a very bad crash
Man, pick yourself up
Memories belong in the trash
Don’t look back on this ride
Ride hard till the end
On down the road
You might meet a friend
Ride while you can
It could suddenly end
Enjoy your days
With your face in the wind
One night it could happen
As you’re riding along
Like a disappearing tail light
Growing dimmer, then gone
Starting through life
Like a six week old pup
Where are we going?
Where will we end up?
This ride seems awesome
Just starting out
Not too far ahead
Some bad bumps, no doubt
Bad booze and women
Can be a very bad crash
Man, pick yourself up
Memories belong in the trash
Don’t look back on this ride
Ride hard till the end
On down the road
You might meet a friend
Ride while you can
It could suddenly end
Enjoy your days
With your face in the wind
One night it could happen
As you’re riding along
Like a disappearing tail light
Growing dimmer, then gone
